The City of Fortuna built this beautiful
building on the banks of the Eel River, using local woods and companies as
much as possible. We were delighted to participate in the project.
We designed and constructed furnishings using Madrone and Tanoak woods, which
are growing locally. As you can see, the chairs are Madrone and the tables
are Tanoak panels in Madrone framework. Both woods are gaining popularity
partly due to this wonderful showcase.
A modular Conference table and chairs
designed for a variety of uses.
Madrone chairs constructed with wedged,
through Mortise and Tenons. This is a very high quality, classical technique
used to ensure a long, useful life for chairs that will see a lot of use.
Solid wood Tanoak and Madrone Lecturns.
Dry Bars used for receptions, etc. at the
River Lodge. These photos show the Tanoak panels and Madrone framework.
We used black plastic laminate for the high use surfaces. Click on the
pictures for more detailed photos that also show the adjustable, rollout
shelving and large locking casters. The River Lodge is multi purpose.
These bars see use in various parts of the building as needed.
